HUPTI Appoints Director Of Operations

Hampton, Va. – Hampton University President William R. Harvey has named Robin Chenail, MA-HRD, SPHR as the director of Operations for the Hampton University Proton Therapy Institute (HUPTI).

“I am excited about highly effective proton therapy treatment becoming available soon in Hampton Roads,” said Chenail, responsible for the overall operations and logistics of HUPTI. Upon opening in 2010, HUPTI will be the largest proton therapy center of its kind in the world.

Chenail’s previous experience includes physician practice management and integration, operations, human resources administration, billing and accounting, professional development, employee relations, as well as developing successful working relationships with a wide array of management teams, physicians, providers, educators and other professionals.

Most recently, Chenail was director of Human Resources and privacy official for a major division of Riverside Health Systems, including 1,500 physicians, providers, managers and staff located at over 100 sites.

Chenail received her Master’s degree in Human Resource Development from the George Washington University, and achieved certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

Chenail resides in Williamsburg with her husband, Bill, and their five children.
