HU Proton Therapy Institute To Host Second Annual Fundraising Gala

Featuring the Legendary Eddie LeVert of The O’Jays

Hampton, Va. – The Hampton University Proton Therapy Institute (HUPTI) will host its second annual fundraising gala, The Gala of Hope, on Friday, October 5, at 6:30pm at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton, Va. This event is open to the public.

HUPTI’s goal is to continue to have an impact on the fight against cancer with this fun-filled, elegant event, designed to help our community fight cancer, the second-leading cause of disease-related death among Americans. The Gala of Hope will aid in HUPTI’s efforts to assist with patient services and cancer research.

“Proton therapy gave me a new lease on life,” said David Burton, of Orangeburg, SC. “I was able to run two miles a day during treatment and didn’t have any side effects whatsoever. I would not have been able to receive proton therapy treatment without the assistance from [HUPTI].”

Entertainment will be provided by R&B sensation Eddie LeVert of The O’Jays, known for hits like, “Darlin’ Darlin’ Baby,” “Family Reunion” and “Give the People What They Want.”

The Gala will feature a plated dinner, silent auction, dancing and entertainment. Tickets are $250 for individuals or $450 for couples. Tables of ten and sponsorships are also available. To register online visit www.hamptonproton.org/galaofhope.

For sponsorship information or to include an item in the silent auction, please contact Joy Jefferson at 757.727.5743.

All funds raised will directly support patient services.
