The housekeeper renders support services to the facility through the performance of various housekeeping tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Perform a variety of cleaning/maintenance duties as assigned including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, shampooing, dusting, polishing, trash disposal, replacement of light bulbs and window cleaning.
  • Be responsible for maintaining the appropriate level of sanitary and cleaning supplies for assigned areas.
  • Clean restrooms, sweep and mop floors. Refill all dispensers such as hand towels, toilet paper & hand soap. Clean toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors & counters. Empty/remove trash. Report any discrepancies or deficiencies to management.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned station and service areas throughout the day.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Complete setup and final breakdown for functions by cleaning the rooms, and cleaning and returning equipment to its proper location. Complete closing duties, including storing all reusable goods, locking doors.
  • Remove trash from premises and assist in emergency cleaning.
  • Follow all company, safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications. Maintain all cleaning solutions and ensure proper use of in accordance to OSHA requirements for hazardous chemicals.
  • Complete daily work orders as scheduled.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Conduct building inspections.
  • Safely operate and maintain all types of cleaning machinery and equipment.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guest’s service needs, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language.
  • Respond to emergency situations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Assist other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Support team to reach common goals. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Requirements

The housekeeper must be able to:

  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in different environmental working conditions (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain).
  • Walk and climb stairs.
  • Communicate, receive and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written word.
  • Complete all required forms.
  • Work extended/flexible hours and weekends based on project requirement.
  • Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 3 ft).
  • Interact effectively with management, peers, and university members.

Hampton University Proton Therapy Institute is seeking an experienced clinical certified medical dosimetrist to provide appropriate patient treatment planning.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Certified Medical Dosimetrist:

  • Independently creates complex radiation therapy treatment plans to deliver dose to a treated volume as prescribed by a radiation oncologist.
  • Has experience with resolving complex treatment planning cases.
  • Interprets and delineates anatomy and anatomical positioning on various imaging modalities.
  • Accurately documents treatment planning, charting and coding in Mosaiq and patient electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Provides simulation assistant to therapists.
  • Follows developments in the field of medical dosimetry, keeps current with related literature and technology.

Requirements

  • A minimum of Bachelors Degree (physics, Math or Radiation Therapy).
  • Certification as a Medical Dosimetrist from the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board.
  • Ability to work flexible hours if needed.

Qualifications

  • Proton therapy treatment planning experience.
  • Experience with Eclipse Treatment Planning System and MOSAIQ.

The Hampton University Proton Therapy Institute (HUPTI) is seeking an experienced radiation therapist. This position reports to the chief radiation therapist and the science and technical director.

Job Description

The Hampton University Proton Therapy Institute (HUPTI) is seeking an experienced radiation therapist. This position reports to the chief radiation therapist and the science and technical director.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Applying ionizing proton radiation to patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the radiation oncologists
  • Obtaining localization radiographs according to planned treatment delivery
  • Assisting with radiation therapy protection monitoring in all clinical areas
  • Performing complex proton radiation therapy procedures and operates equipment
  • Potentially performing measurements for use during treatment calculation, and collecting and documenting data acquired during the simulation procedure
  • Accurately inputting treatment related data into the verify and record system
  • Providing safety in patient care through the consistent practice of departmental procedures for treatment administration and recognizing deviation from prescribed treatment delivery and reporting any deviations
  • Potentially assisting with ordering supplies and maintaining quality control in accordance with facility and department standards
  • Reporting any technical malfunction of equipment
  • Explaining treatment procedures to patients and/or family members and responding effectively to patient concerns, referring medical questions to appropriate personnel
  • Maintaining accurate and timely patient care and other records as necessary
  • Maintaining effective working relationships with patients, providers, management, staff and the public
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

The radiation therapist will:

  • Have successfully completed a formal radiation therapy technology program from an approved institution
  • Possess and maintain current ARRT certification
  • Possess a current Virginia license as a Radiologic Technologist, or obtain one upon hire
  • Be knowledgeable regarding human anatomy
  • Be able to physically assist patients entering and exiting the treatment area, as well as on and off the treatment table (this requires the ability to lift and move)
  • Be able to successfully pass basic radiation safety training
  • Be personable and present well, and demonstrate excellent customer service skills with all patients, visitors, management and staff
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills

Previous experience as a radiologic technologist preferred.  Three years of radiation therapy experience preferred.  Proton therapy experience preferred.  Experience with Elekta Mosaiq system preferred.
